Full Morphological Analysis التَّحْلِيل الصَّرْفِي
By Book 9, you decompose any word into its root (جَذْر) + measure pattern (وَزْن) and derive its meaning independently. This is the core skill that makes Arabic self-teaching possible at any level.

Qurʾānic Arabic Iʿrāb Analysis
Iʿrāb (إِعْرَاب) is the grammatical parsing of each word in a sentence identifying its case, its function, and why it takes the case marker it does. Book 9 performs full iʿrāb on selected Qurʾānic verses.
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآناً عَرَبِيّاً لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُون
Innā anzalnāhu Qurʾānan ʿarabiyyan laʿallakum taʿqilūn
Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qurʾān so that you may reason. (12:2)
Iʿrāb of 12:2: إِنَّا = إِنَّ + نَا (inna with 1st pl. suffix, subject of inna = نَا, accusative). أَنزَلْنَا = past verb Form IV (we sent down). هُ = object pronoun (it = the Qurʾān). قُرْآناً = ḥāl (circumstantial accusative in the state of being a Qurʾān). عَرَبِيّاً = adjective agreeing with قُرْآناً (accusative). لَعَلَّ = particle of hope/purpose + كُمْ (accusative subject). تَعْقِلُون = present tense plural verb (predicate of لَعَلَّ).

Honoured brothers, the Arabic language is truly the vessel of Islamic civilisation and the key to its sciences.
Qurʾānic Inimitability الإِعْجَاز الْبَيَانِي
The Qurʾān's rhetorical inimitability (iʿjāz) is a core topic of Book 9. You will study how its language surpasses what human composition can achieve through its concision, its rhythm, its use of tibāq, its syntactic precision, and the way meaning is compressed into a handful of words.
وَلَكُمْ فِي الْقِصَاصِ حَيَاةٌ يَا أُولِي الأَلْبَاب
Wa-lakum fī l-qiṣāṣi ḥayātun yā ūlī l-albāb
And in retribution there is life for you, O people of understanding. (2:179) Six words in Arabic convey what would require an entire legal treatise in another language.
- Root decomposition: Every Arabic word has a 3-letter root. Recognising the root immediately narrows meaning master 500 roots and you recognise tens of thousands of words.
- Iʿrāb confidence: By Book 9 you can parse every word in a verse identify its case, its grammatical function, and the rule that governs it.
- Fatwā reading: Key structure السُّؤَال (the question) + الْجَوَاب (the answer) + الدَّلِيل (the evidence from Qurʾān, ḥadīth, or consensus).
- Graduation outcome: Read, write, speak, debate, and parse in Arabic at ACTFL Advanced-High / Superior level ready for any Arabic-medium Islamic institution.
- The goal: Direct, unmediated access to the Qurʾān, the ḥadīth, and fourteen centuries of Islamic scholarship in the language they were written in.
