Drill lesson for sukūn. Read every word cleanly stop on sākin letters without adding any trailing vowel sound.

Drill: Sākin Letter in the Middle

مَسْجِدmasjid "mosque"
مُسْلِمmuslim "Muslim"
يَسْتَغْفِرyastaghfir "he seeks forgiveness"
يَعْلَمyaʿlam "he knows"
أَمْثَالamthāl "examples/parables"
سَبْعsabʿ "seven"

Drill: Sākin Letter at Word End

قُلْqul "say!" (command)
لَمْlam negation particle
مِنْmin "from"
عَنْʿan "from / about"
هَلْhal question particle
بَلْbal "rather / but"

Qalqalah Drill

Read these and listen for the natural bounce on the qalqalah letter. Do not exaggerate let the bounce emerge naturally:

يَقْدِرyaqdiru qāf is sākin + qalqalah
مَطْلَبmaṭlab ṭāʾ + qalqalah
اجْتَهَدijtahada jīm + qalqalah
أَحَدaḥad dāl at end + strong qalqalah

From Sūrat Al-Ikhlāṣ

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ Qul Huwa llāhu Aḥad Identify every sākin letter. Which are qalqalah? The lām in qul and the dāl in Aḥad both get qalqalah.
