Practice on Shaddah, Sukūn, and Madd Together

The final drill before the review all three signs in combination. This is the real complexity level of Qurʾānic vocabulary.
All Three Signs at Once
In the Qurʾān, shaddah, sukūn, and madd appear together constantly. You must manage each without letting it affect the others:
- Madd vowel + elongation letter → hold exactly 2 counts
- Sukūn sākin letter → clean stop, no vowel added
- Shaddah doubled letter → first sākin, second voweled
Drill
الْمُسْتَقِيمَal-mustaqīm sākin sīn, madd yāʾ
الرَّحِيمِar-Raḥīm shaddah rāʾ, madd yāʾ
الرَّحْمَـٰنِar-Raḥmān shaddah rāʾ, sākin ḥāʾ, madd alif
وَالضَّالِّينَwaḍ-ḍāllīn shaddah ḍād, shaddah lām, madd yāʾ
اَلْمُتَّقِينَal-muttaqīn shaddah tāʾ, madd yāʾ
يُسَبِّحُyusabbiḥu shaddah bāʾ
Extended Reading Sūrat Al-Aʿlā (1–5)
سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى
