Discuss leisure activities, cultural events, and how you spend your time off. Expressing opinions with أَرَى and أَعْتَقِد gives your Arabic a more sophisticated, personal voice.

أَرَى أَنَّ التَّرْفِيهَ الْمُفِيدَ يَشْمَلُ الرِّيَاضَةَ وَالْقِرَاءَة Arā anna t-tarfīha l-mufīda yashmalu r-riyāḍata wa-l-qirāʾa I think that useful recreation includes sport and reading.
أَعْتَقِدُ أَنَّ الْوَقْتَ الَّذِي يُمْضِيهِ الْإِنْسَانُ فِي التَّرْفِيهِ لَهُ قِيمَة Aʿtaqidu anna l-waqta lladhī yumḍīhi l-insānu fī t-tarfīhi lahu qīma I believe that the time a person spends in recreation has value.
  • أَرَى أَنَّ / أَعْتَقِدُ أَنَّ: "I think that" followed by anna + accusative subject + predicate.
  • الَّذِي relative clause: الْوَقْتُ الَّذِي يُمْضِيهِ (the time that he spends) the relative pronoun الَّذِي refers back to الْوَقْت.
  • مُفِيد (useful): Active participle Form IV from أَفَادَ recognising this pattern unlocks hundreds of adjectives.
  • Islamic balance: وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَنفَقُوا لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا (25:67) balance in spending time is an Islamic virtue.
