Quranic Analysis Sample Verse
وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ
Wa-in kuntum fī raybin mimmā nazzalnā ʿalā ʿabdinā faʾtū bisūratin min mithlihi
"And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our servant, then produce a chapter the like thereof." (2:23) The challenge verse.
- Quranic challenge: No human writing has ever matched the Quran in fourteen centuries understanding Arabic lets you witness this directly.
- نَزَّلَ: Form II deliberate, gradual sending down different from أَنزَلَ (Form IV, sending all at once). The choice of Form II encodes the nature of Quranic revelation.
- فَأْتُوا: Imperative Form I plural with connective فَ the challenge is direct and universal.
- Balaghah begins: Study of simile (تَشْبِيه), metaphor (اِسْتِعَارَة), and antithesis (طِبَاق) begins at this level.
