Al-lughatu l-ʿarabiyyatu lughatu l-Qurʾāni l-karīmi wa-lughatu ahli l-janna
The Arabic language is the language of the Noble Quran and the language of the people of Paradise.
قَالَ اِبْنُ تَيْمِيَّة: اللُّغَةُ الْعَرَبِيَّةُ مِنَ الدِّين
Qāla Ibn Taymiyya: Al-lughatu l-ʿarabiyyatu min ad-dīn
Ibn Taymiyya said: "The Arabic language is part of the deen."
- Iḍāfa chain: لُغَةُ الْقُرْآنِ الْكَرِيمِ three words in construct; only the last takes the definite article effect through the chain.
- Scholarly quotes: Reading classical scholars in original Arabic ibn Taymiyya, ibn al-Qayyim, al-Ghazālī becomes possible at this intermediate level.
- Fuṣḥā vs lahja: This unit explicitly addresses the difference between written/formal Arabic and regional dialects.
- Motivation: Understanding why Arabic matters spiritually transforms the language from a subject into an act of worship.
