Kullamā nāma l-insānu mubakkiran kāna akthara nashāṭan wa-intājiyyatan fī yawmih
The earlier a person sleeps, the more active and productive he will be in his day.
القَيْلُولَةُ سُنَّةٌ نَبَوِيَّةٌ تَسْتَعِيدُ بِهَا الطَّاقَة
Al-qaylūlatu sunnatun nabawiyyatun tastaʿīdu bihā ṭ-ṭāqa
The midday nap is a Prophetic Sunnah through which energy is restored.
- كُلَّمَا: "Whenever / the more... the more" introduces a conditional clause with correlative structure.
- كَانَ أَكْثَر: "Was/would be more" كَانَ as a correlative result clause after كُلَّمَا.
- تَسْتَعِيدُ بِهَا: "Through which energy is restored" the relative pronoun ها refers back to سُنَّة.
- Prophetic sleep habits: The Prophet ﷺ slept after ʿIshāʾ and woke for Tahajjud a productivity model fourteen centuries old.
