- The four indicative endings: ـُ (sg/1pl), ـُونَ (3m pl), ـِينَ (2f sg), ـَانِ (dual).
- These endings are in the indicative mood (رَفْع). In subjunctive/jussive they change.
- يَكْتُبْنَ (3f pl) has sukūn the نَ is part of the form, not a case ending.
- Subjunctive and jussive drop the final نَ from the five forms (أَفْعَال الْخَمْسَة): يكتبون → يكتبوا, تكتبين → تكتبي, يكتبان → يكتبا.
- The present tense prefix vowels يَـ تَـ أَـ نَـ follow person/gender; the stem vowel pattern (a-u, a-i, a-a) is fixed per verb and must be memorised.
